Procedures

Standard procedures in opening and closing LPAC.

The following are standard checklists to adhere to in conducting startup and shutdown procedures in LPAC. While events may differ between each other, these procedures will remain constant.

Startup

GPAC: Technical Office
1 Acquare the following:
1.i Radio
1.ii Duty Tech Phone if you are scheduled as a Duty Technician
GPAC: Loading dock (int.)
2 Go to the whiteboard in the passage between the Loading Dock and the Main Foyer and note the following:
2.i Your name
2.ii Location (LPAC)
2.iii Scheduled end time
3 Reposition the pin to IN if the pin is currently positioned to OUT
LPAC: Foyer Switch Board
4 Activate all switches on the following switch boards:
4.i Main Switch Board
4.ii DC Emergency Exit Lighting Switch Board
LPAC: Backstage & Basement
5 Switch on the lights in the following locations:
5.i Backstage x2
5.ii Stairway between Backstage and the Basement
5.iii Basement Entrance
5.iv Green Room
5.v Dressing Room Passage
5.vi Dressing Rooms
5.vi.a Bathrooms (each)
5.vii Stairway between the Basement and Little Theatre if Little Theatre is to be occupied
5.viii Stairway between the Basement and Town Hall if Town Hall is to be occupied
LPAC: Boiler Room
6 Set the heating system to its active or airflow configuration if required
LPAC: Backstage
7 Unlock the following:
7.i The door between Backstage and Little Theatre if Little Theatre is to be occupied
7.ii The door between Backstage and Town Hall if Town Hall is to be occupied
LPAC: Little Theatre
8 Unlock the main entrance if Little Theatre is to be occupied
LPAC: Town Hall
9 Unlock the main entrance if Town Hall is to be occupied
LPAC: Meeting Rooms
10 Unlock the entrance(s) if any Meeting Rooms are to be occupied
11 Activate the climate control system(s), using the fixed wall panel(s) if any Meeting Rooms are to be occupied
LPAC: Main Foyer
12 Unlock the front entrance:
12.i Disengage the latch on the door
12.ii Set the motorised lock to AUTO
13 Unlock the east entrance:
13.i Set the motorised lock to AUTO

Shutdown

LPAC: Boiler Room
1 Set the heating system to its inactive configuration if the heating system is active
LPAC: Basement
2 Confirm the panel and overhead heaters are switched off in the following areas:
2.i Green Room
2.ii Dressing Room Passage
2.iii Dressing Rooms
3 Confirm the door between the Green Room and the stairway to Little Theatre is locked
4 Confirm the door between the Dressing Room Passage and the stairway to Town Hall is locked
5 Confirm all screens are switched off in the following areas:
5.i Green Room
5.ii Dressing Room Passage
5.iii Dressing Rooms each
6 Confirm all lights are switched off in the following areas:
6.i Dressing Rooms each
6.ii.a Bathrooms each
6.iii Dressing Room Passage
6.iv Green Room
6.v Basement Entrance
6.vi Stairway between the Basement and Backstage
7 Ensure the Basement Entrance is closed and padlocked
8 Ensure the Emergency Exit is closed in the stairway between the Basement and Backstage
LPAC: Upper Level
9 Ensure the exit to the rooftop is locked
10 Switch off the light in the office
11 Lock the office door
LPAC: Little Theatre
12 If the event is due to continue the next day:
12.i Tidy the stage area (including prompt and opposite prompt sides), so it is ready for initialisation the day.
13 If the event is not due to continue the next day:
13.i Pack down all equipment from the stage (including prompt and opposite prompt sides)
13.ii Return all equipment to their designated storage areas
14 Raise any and all drapery, including the cyclorama
15 Sweep the stage
16 Mop the stage, using the mop and bucket allocated for the stage
17 Ensure a worker light is left on
LPAC: Town Hall
18 If the event is due to continue the next day:
18.i Tidy the stage area (including prompt and opposite prompt sides), so it is ready for initialisation the day.
19 If the event is not due to continue the next day:
19.i Pack down all equipment from the stage (including prompt and opposite prompt sides)
19.ii Return all equipment to their designated storage areas
20 Raise any and all drapery, including the cyclorama
21 Sweep the stage
22 Mop the stage, using the mop and bucket allocated for the stage
23 Ensure a worker light is left on
LPAC: Backstage
24 Ensure the backstage entrances to Little Theatre and Town Hall are both locked
25 Switch off both lights
LPAC: Foyer Switch Board
26 Deactivate all switches on the following boards:
26.i Main Switch Board
26.ii DC Emergency Exit Lighting Switch Board
27 Turn off the light, and lock the door upon exiting
LPAC: Main Foyer
28 Lock the front entrance:
28.i Set the motorised lock to LOCK
28.ii Engage the latch on the door
29 Lock the east entrance
29.i Set the motorised lock to LOCK
Underground Parking Lot
30 Ensure the gate is closed, locked and armed if the event concludes after 20:00 (8pm), there are no events in GPAC, and attendees have vacated the lot
GPAC: Technical Office
31 Return the following items:
31.i Radio
31.ii Duty Tech Phone if you are scheduled as a Duty Technician
GPAC: Loading Dock (int.)
32 Go to the whiteboard in the passage between the Loading Dock and the Main Foyer and remove all information noted at the start of shift
33 Reposition the pin to OUT if you are the last technician to leave
GPAC: Front Office
34 If you are responsible for locking and arming the building:
34.i Follow the instructions pinned above the panel beside the office entrance
34.ii With all entrances sealed, exit and arm the building

Operating the loading dock lifter

# Instruction
1 Go to the Green Room and collect the barriers for the lifter.
2 Fix the barriers into the lifter.
Barriers must be securely fixed into the lifter in order to function.
3 Go to the stage in Little Theatre, remove the padlock from the sliding door (located upstage, prompt-side), and open it.
Door must be open completely in order for the lifter to function.
4 Raise the boom gate, and place/remove items on the lifter.
5 Lower the boom gate, and operate the lifter using the control panel beside the door.
Boom gate must be lowered completely in order for the lifter to function.
6 Lower the lifter to the ground.
7 Close and padlock the sliding door.
8 Remove the barriers from the lifter, and return them to their designated space in the green room.
